Why Gravity Research?

Once upon a time, a long time ago, in the time before I started speedskating - I was one of them. Yup, those people that go around on skates purposefully trying to hurt themselves. An aggressive skater.

Although, to be honest, I was never really that aggressive and the best I could ever do were 540's off benches. But, I spent all my time doing silly things like jumping off walls and doing back-flips on the grass (no skates!). So one of my best friends aptly put Gravity Research as the screensaver on my phone, and it stuck. And I like it.

I'm sure I could find all sorts of reasonable explanations of how Gravity is relevant to speedskating, like how you need to delay each foot's set down and therefore lengthen the amount of time you are 'falling' towards the ground and applying pressure through the single skate on the ground, etc, etc, etc. But I'm not going to. I just like it ok!
